We use Parietaria judaica and Parietaria officinalis interchangeably in our extracts, and these are the only Parietaria species we work with. A thorough review of the botanical literature suggests that P. judaica is likely a subspecies or phenotypic variant of P. officinalis, with minimal genetic distinction between them. While they may differ slightly in growth habit, their traditional uses are functionally identical. Our Parietaria tincture currently incorporates both species.
Our licorice extract is made using a meticulous dual-extraction process to honor the tradition of herbal craftsmanship. The licorice is first heat-extracted for one hour to release its water-soluble constituents. It is then combined with alcohol and carefully macerated for one month to create a well-rounded and balanced extract. This thoughtful approach results in an exceptional product that reflects the complexity and depth of licorice as a botanical.
